Bone Density Testing

Bone Density Testing is an extremely important preventative test for women. Bone density problems are a major contributor to disability and death in women as they age. We at Advanced Gynecology feel it is very important to help patients prevent these complications. Because we feel so strongly regarding this, we provide on-site bone density testing. This Bone Density Scan is a simple, pain free test. All patients have to do is lay on a table! The test takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

There is no consensus as to when women should begin receiving these tests and how often they should be completed. We recommend that patients in early menopause or menopausal and post-menopausal women who are not on hormone therapy have this test done. There may be other times when such testing may be warranted. You and your physician should discuss when this testing will be most beneficial to you.
