Dr. Maureen J. Swezey
Dr. Swezey received her Medical Degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland and her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio Texas. She was an active duty Air Force physician at multiple bases throughout the world where she performed over 600 gynecologic surgeries. Dr Swezey was the department chief at Yokota Air Base, Langley Air Force Base, Evans Army Medical Center and Andrews Air Force Base, and became the Chief of the Medical Staff at Andrews AFB prior to her retirement from the Air Force in September 2010. During her military service, she had the opportunity to provide care for service members and local women in both Iraq and Afghanistan, and she has received more than 10 different medals for her service in the Armed Forces. She joined Advanced Gynecology in October 2010.
Dr Swezey is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is also a member of the American Association of Laparoscopic Gynecologists and the El Paso County Medical Society.
She maintains active privileges at Penrose-St Francis Hospital, Memorial Hospital, Audubon surgery Center, and Premier Surgery Center.
